Takaharu & Yui Tezuka
During the first autumn Masters of Architecture on-line lecture, we were connected with Takaharu and Yui Tezuka – founders of Tezuka Architects working in Tokyo. In their projects, instead of following the possibilities given by new technologies, they focus on finding the meaning of being human.
Tezuka Architects most well-known project is Fuji Kindergaten, which was recognized as the best kindergarten in the world after winning the Best of All, OECD/CELE 4th Compendium of Exemplary Educational Facilities in 2011. Its characteristic element is an oval-shaped rooftop deck. It forms an endless playground, allowing children to run and play in the fresh outdoors.
